Gemini Image Cloning System (page 1)

The Gemini Image Cloning System product is a unique system that will not only save your organization money but also, more importantly, time.

The Gemini Image Cloning System is a complete multi-cast cloning solution for business or educational institutions that provides a method of distributing new system builds to your networked workstation environment.

What the Gemini Image Cloning System offers is a way to store a system image and apply that image to multiple systems in one pass. It does so in a single data stream to the systems that have been selected to help decrease bandwidth usage. The end result is a quick and simple reconfiguring of a group of computers to a specific computer system specification.

Whether you are imaging a classroom of 30 systems or a complete business environment of five hundred or more, the Gemini Image Cloning System offers you the chance to do this in just a few clicks.

In this example we will be using a thirty system class room in a school. The classroom itself is used as a lab for learning different types of operating systems.

Including: Windows XP, Server 2008, Windows 7

Every other day a different class comes into the lab to learn a different operating system. The dilemma of the IT department is how to change the OS on each system to match the classroom schedule.

There are several ways to achieve this:

You could have three different hard drives per system. This means a total of ninety different drives would be needed for the class room. This would be very expensive.

Another method would be to place different boot partitions on drives and have the students boot into the proper partition at the time of the class. You would have to maintain each of these partitions separately. After each class, whatever changes were made to the partition would be in place so the next class would have to work within these new parameters. You would have to support the students to instruct them how to boot into the correct partition for the class. This is an extra procedure that is not part of the class experience.

You could reload each system before the class starts. This would mean loading Windows XP with all its updates and drivers on each system. This would normally take about two hours per-system for a basic load. Who needs this kind labor intensive work?

All of these methods require additional costs in either hardware or man hours.

The Gemini Image Cloning System from Computer Connections provides an easier and more effective solution. Imagine this: instead of having extra drives or spending unavailable man hours, all of your systems are linked to our Gemini Image Cloning System. The main image is already stored for you, one that you have tested and is clean and ready to be used with all of the program drivers and updated applications that your class needs.

With a few simple clicks of a mouse from the server you can wake all of the systems (if you have wake on LAN support). The main image is multi-cast across your network to each system, where it is wiped and reimaged to the OS you want, with the applications that you need for the class already loaded and ready for your students to use.
